Summer Classes and Intensives

Join us at Slavin Nadal School of Ballet for your summer training. You will experience quality instruction in classical ballet technique from highly experienced faculty who are committed to bringing the finest aspects of artistry and athleticism to their classes. With a foundation in Russian technique, we aim to refine your skills with the many movement qualities that are necessary for the development of strong and expressive dancers.

Summer intensives can facilitate periods of rapid personal growth, unveil new discoveries, and create valuable connections in the dance community. Whether you are a young dancer, an adult student, or a working professional artist, we have an enriching experience to offer you.

Our Summer Sessions allow youth and adult students to continue their regular classes outside of our Fall and Spring semester schedules. Stay in shape this summer with classes at Slavin Nadal!

Summer Intensive (2-week)
June 5-8 (Tues-Fri) & June 11-15 (Mon-Fri)
 
Schedule: 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
Price: $625

Program 1: Pre-Pointe Technique / Expanded Studies
Requirements: Age 10 – 18 with a minimum of three years ballet training – contact for placement information.

Classes include: Ballet Technique, Dance Conditioning (pre-pointe), Character, Pilates, Dance History, Repertoire, and more!

Program 2: Pointe Technique / Partnering
Requirements: Age 13 – 22 with a minimum of one year pointe training and Director approval – contact for placement information.

Classes include Ballet Technique, Pointe, Partnering, Character, Pilates, Dance History, Advanced Repertoire, and more!

Both Levels -
  • Ladies - Black or Burgundy leotard, Pink tights, Pink ballet/pointe shoes, skirts may be worn for some classes at teacher’s discretion.
  • Men - White tee-shirt, grey or black tights, dance belt, white or black ballet shoes.
  • Please bring a lunch, water bottle, towel, yoga/Pilates mat.

Choreography Summer Intensive (2-week)
June 18 – 22 (Mon – Fri) & June 25 – 29 (Mon – Fri)
Schedule: 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
Price: $625 ($50 discount if also attending our Ballet Intensive)
Requirements: Age 13 and up – Intermediate or Advanced level of skill in Ballet or Modern Dance. Both student and professional dancers welcome!

The emphasis of this dance intensive is on expanding the dancers' movement vocabulary and exploring choreographic process. Classes will include classical ballet, modern dance, improvisation, dance composition, and production studies. Students will receive guidance on the crafting of original choreography and effective participation in both individual and collaborative creative processes. Each week will culminate in a presentation of these works for family and friends.

We offer a safe and supportive environment for you to try new movement practices and to explore your creative ideas. Adult Ballet Intensive (4-days)
July 5-8 (Thursday-Sunday)
Thursday & Friday 9:00am- 1:30 pm
Saturday & Sunday 11:00am - 3:30pm
Price: $230 full program / $65 per day
Ballet, Repertoire/Variations, Modern Technique, Pilates/Yoga and Dance History.
This 4-day program is an immersive dance intensive designed specifically for the adult dance student (aged 16 and up). An intermediate or advanced level of skill in Ballet or Modern Dance is expected.

Classes are taught with respect for the physical and intellectual needs of adult learners. There is an added emphasis on teaching the underlying principles of both dance movement and the classical ballet aesthetic. We aim to enrich your understanding of dance as a personal practice and as a performing art.

For ages 4-6 years and 7-9 years (2 groups)
The Slavin Nadal School of Ballet presents "Movement and Make Believe", our summer camp for young children. Campers explore a new theme each week and will cultivate their creative energies through dance, arts and crafts, and other activities. Each week will end with a short in-studio performance where children can share what they have learned with family and friends. Dance is a fun exercise and a great way for children to develop creativity, teamwork, and self-confidence. If you are looking for an active and enriching summer activity, have your child come dance with us at Slavin Nadal School of Ballet. No prior dance training or special dance attire needed.

• Friday Performances at 1:30 pm

• Price for 2-weeks: $475
• Price of Aftercare: $20/day or $80/week (scheduled in advance)
• Students should bring their own snack, lunch, and drinks
• $50 non-refundable deposit per week enrolled due at registration. Balance due by June 1st or spot will be released to waitlist and new enrollments.

Non-refundable $30 deposit for each session due at registration. Balance due June 1. The school is closed on Wednesday July 4th – No Classes. See website for dress code, refund, and other school policies.

PLEASE NOTE: All classes are subject to minimum enrollment levels. Regular classes with fewer than 5 enrolled students may be removed from the schedule – please enroll early. Enrolled students will receive a pro-rated refund should a class be cancelled due to low enrollment.
